What is Future Indefinite Tense?

This tense is used to express an action that has not yet occurred and will take place in the future. It is also called Future Simple Tense.

Understanding in Urdu:

اردو میں پہچان

جملے کےآخر میں گا، گی، گے آتا ہے۔

:مثال کے طور پر

میں کل خط لکھوں گا۔

I will write the letter tomorrow.

Structure of Affirmative, Negative and Interrogative Sentences:

Positive Sentence

Subject + Will/Shall + 1st Form of Verb + Object

Negative Sentence

Subject + Will/Shall + not + 1st Form of Verb + Object

Interrogative Sentence

Will/Shall + Subject + 1st Form of Verb + Object

Wh-Interrogative Sentence

Will/Shall + Subject + 1st Form of Verb + Object

Examples:

Positive Sentence

She will attend the party.

Negative Sentence

I will not eat mango.

Interrogative Sentence

Will he speak the truth?

Wh-Interrogative Sentence

Why will you plan a trip?

When to Use?

We use this tense when we have just decided to do something. We announce our decision by using the mentioned tense.

E.g., Oh! I left the door open. I will go and shut it. (Decision made at the time of speaking).

Did you call Ali? ‘Oh no, I forgot. I will call him now. (Decision made at the time of speaking).

What are the Uses of this tense?

  1. Offering to do something:

Example: That bag looks heavy. I will help you with it.

2. Agreeing to do something:

Example: A: Can you give Aleena this pen?

B: Sure, I will give it to her.

3. Promising to do something:

Example: Thanks for lending me the money. I will pay you back on Monday.

We often use this Tense with the following:

Probably: I will probably be home late tonight.

He is sure: He is sure you will pass.

We think: We think I will have something to eat.

You do not think: You don’t think the exam will be very difficult.

They wonder: They wonder what will happen in future.

  4. The king will fall in love with the queen.
  5. They will cook dinner.

  7. This will make sense.

  9. They will slaughter the animals.
  10. Cars will operate on electricity next year.
  11. The police will catch the thief.
  12. I shall consider his request tomorrow.
  13. He will send her a letter tonight.
  14. You will destroy his toys.
  15. I shall try my best.
  16. You will not buy a new car.
  17. Sara will not solve the sum.
  18. The boys will not tease the girls.
  19. The children will not make noise.
  20. The government will not give any discount to the poor.
  21. Poverty will not affect the rich.
  22. Will you accept his offer?
  23. Will she behave rudely in front of the guests?
  24. Shall they protest against the rising prices of fuel?
